After drooling over Yuliya Martynova‘s Blue Bay series for months (even more so since our recent sailing trip) I finally caved. The vibrantly blue ‘Limni‘ and ‘Delfi‘ paintings hang proudly side-by-side in my new study, oozing happy summer vibes on even the greyest, wettest days.
I’d come across her works on the new affordable art website; Rise Art. Another dangerously addictive website that will have you putting off your to-do list and aimlessly scrolling through affordable artworks instead.
There are currently 13,653 artworks all organised by category; search by size, price, colour, orientation (landscape, square or portrait formats), medium (painting / drawing / collage / photography etc), subject (from animals and architecture to transport and typography) and even the style (choose from abstract, expressionistic, figurative, geometric, illustrative, impressionistic, minimalistic, pop art, realistic, street art and surrealistic) to find the pieces that suit you.
At the bottom of each artwork’s page are also suggestions of similar pieces that you may like – resulting in a never-ending chain of new tabs and windows. It can be quite overwhelming to even know where to start, so I’ve put together a roundup of 40 of my favourite modern art pieces currently on Rise Art below.
But first, don’t you love these summery squares?
