Chelsea flat before and after

After a couple of years living in the ‘burbs (see the house tour), we finally came back to my home turf in South Kensington – just in time to have our baby. Being back in amongst the hustle and bustle was a game changer. Not only was my commute to work cut in half, but since having the baby it’s been great to be able to nip out to all our classes and groups, plus the various parks, cafes and shops, all within a stone’s throw. It’s only a rented flat while we sold the previous one and looked for a family home to buy together, which means we weren’t able to change much in the way of interiors – but furniture and accessories go a long way! It took jut one afternoon to move our stuff in, and I feel that it goes to show how easy it can be to make a space your own. Here are a few before and afters…

(disclaimer – the animal wall heads were bought to go in the future nursery, but looked kind of fun in the sitting space too)

The alcove next to the galley kitchen was the perfect fit for the cupboard that I bought on our Shepton Mallet trip!
