I’ve recently discovered a whole new world of food shopping.
Being able to order what you want online and have it delivered to your door at a time that suits you is perhaps not that groundbreaking – although it’s very very useful and means you won’t be schlepping heavy shopping bags up the road or even on the tube or bus.
Farmdrop is different in that it’s not a supermarket, it’s more like a farmer’s market, or even a farmer’s community, in that the food is picked / plucked / chopped when it’s clicked, and it comes straight from the farm – no middle men. This means that the food is fresher and healthier, with no preservatives as it’s not sat on a shelf or in a warehouse – and as it’s not sat in a warehouse or supermarket, wastage is absolutely minimal.
But isn’t it more expensive? No – quite the opposite! Because the supply chain is simplified and there is no need for processing or even storage, they are able to reduce costs so the food is not only field-to-fork, but amazing value compared to other food delivery companies.
To top it all off, they give farmers and producers 70% of the deal as opposed to the 30% they get elsewhere, which means that every time you shop, you’re supporting UK farmers.
Sound good? Well, it gets better! Farmdrop are offering all Yes Please readers £20 off a £40 (or over) shop! Just use the code ‘REVOLUTIONYESPLEASE’.
Expires on Sunday 21st February at midnight.
